Barack Obamas' paternal grandfather tortured by British

Yesterday I came across this fascinating article from the Times of London.  It details the two years of beatings and torture Hussein Onyango Obama endured at the hands of British colonial powers while jailed for his involvement in the struggle for Kenyan independence (the Mau Mau uprising).

Just thought I would put it up because it is some pretty damn fascinating stuff.

Obama’s father Barack Obama Sr. was briefly imprisoned by the British as well for attending a Kenyan National African Union (Kanu) meeting.  According to the article Obama Sr. inherited this disdain of the Brits from his father.

So the question to you pollsters follows.  Do you think the Obama familys history of oppression at the hands of the British effects Barack Obama’s attitude towards the UK ?  Just curious
